What value can a bent, scarred, discolored, abandoned penny have? We see them in the road, in the gutter, thrown on the dresser, found in the pocket of our jeans or stacked in a jar. A sister, JoAnn by name, shared a story of life and how many of the scars we carry around are just like the penny. Bruised and spent we crawl into our shell to hide and weather out each day, only to realize we have another day to face tomorrow. We think no one has walked in our shoes and no one would understand. The difficulties of life have left a mark. While the penny is bent, scarred and discolored it still has the same value.
You ask why are we discussing a penny; it illustrates where many people are coming from and where we need to meet them on the road of life. Some of us are these people, others are the people we meet on the way. We need to see them as God sees them. Our conference now is teaching leaders of the local churches how to walk as Jesus did, see how Jesus saw, speak how Jesus spoke and touch as Jesus touched. This love is powerful.
Studying the book of Ester
Today as JoAnn shared this story women here in Honduras were extremely touched. She closed this testimony with a portion of her life story and a reminder that those who relate to this story have value. Read Jermiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you to give you hope.....
If you see a penny on the ground and relate to any portion of this story pick it up.
Faithful
Warriors, my apology for missing a post. We are dealing with an unstable Internet. I had this post ready last night at 10:30, lost the Internet and lost half of what I wrote. The enemy is still battling. Keep up the prayers!
