Reflections

Admiring Colby's Camel back

We arose much earlier today because there was so much we wanted to get done. Yet tonight, I was reminded what really moves the heart of God and what moved the hearts of the team.....relationship. It doesn't matter if we accomplish painting all the rooms in the girls house, completely paint the pool and finish the road. Don't get me wrong these are all valuable and needed accomplishments but without relationship it is empty and void. We spent the majority of the day towards these ends but in our reflections it was all about our time with the children and staff that mattered.When you put relationship above

accomplishment you will always win out. Below are things we accomplished for the children and staff today. But above this paragraph are the relationships we advanced and nurtured. It is what we talked about and cherished during our reflections.

Another Miracle in the Life of His Warriors

Storms-Singing-Salvation's-Swelling Rivers-Sweet Rejoicing

Interesting title... our day began with high winds blowing, raging waves and a tropical storm slashing the countryside. Yes, we literally viewed a tropical storm on the radar heading directly to Honduras; an apparent attempt to keep us stranded at the hotel for the day. Our team decided to come together in worship and to honor our creator in song…As sons and heirs we stepped out in our authority to calm the storm. As we prayed the winds calmed… We shared the life of Jesus with two of our new found friends and they decided to follow Jesus this very morning. With joyous hearts and a smile on our faces we took communion together, then we packed up our gear and headed out to complete the Lords work. Can't imagine a better start to the day?  Calm the storm, lead someone to our Savior and “Go” and do what the Father has sent you to do.

Painting the Hall
We monitored the rivers as we headed out this morning; some were swollen but none in anyway able to keep us from traveling. Thank you Jesus! Jesus you are such a sweet Savior, we love you. Today, our team painted 5 rooms and one hallway in the girls’ house. Another team sorted all the donated clothes and prepared them for distribution to the kids. Yet another team, moved trees that were in the way of the new road going in. Tomorrow, more rooms to paint and cleaning out of the pool so it can dry and get painted for the children this summer.

A Fitting End of The Day
Just a note.... we as a team come to bless our children but oh so often it is us that get blessed by them. Over and over today the team commented in our nightly wrap up how sweet it was to receive a letter from our kids. I tell you we give love but we get so much love, unexpected love back from these children. Our children are happy, they are giving, they are sharing, they think of others, they are so full of hugs and helpfulness it makes me  wonder if I am doing enough. What about you? If you haven't received enough love today, come and  receive for there is enough love for all.

Sounds of Rumblings

Rumblings you say? Oh yes...today Heart to Heart began the first of many dump truck loads of rock along a path that has been known as " Tepetia Lake" by some. As the rocks fell more came. Today, we received an anonymous donation to complete a project that has been on our hearts for years.What project might that be? A Road. Yes, in Our Children's Village and between the girls and boys homes. This area has long flooded as the rains come. Consequently, our girls must roll up their pants and hold their shoes as they walk across the field to catch the bus for school. But soon this too will pass and they will pass along the high road to meet their bus for school.

There is more worked to be done but it should be completed shortly... In process as we say.

Tonight, the lightening, thunder and rain began to flood the streets of the city. All of us were thinking about the new road going in and very soon the walk will be on high ground. We are again reminded of the blessing we are receiving as we listen to the down pour of heavy rains.

Psalm 27:5-6
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion
In the secret place of His Tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.

And now my head shall be lifted up above
my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in
His Tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the
Lord.

Rocks Dropped

Heart to Heart Ministries is blessed to have such wonderful people who look into the cares of this ministry and the cares of our children. We so appreciate all of you! This simply isn't possible without your obedience to the call of the Lord. Accept our gracious thanks! Dios le Bendigo as we say in Honduras, "God Bless You."

Faithful To Him
A beginning....

He is Here and He is Not Silent

One of our Graduates!
Today, preparations were made for the second quarter birthdays & Kindergarten Graduation for the Mary Frenter Bilingual School. There were 25 gringos present along with our 88 children. The graduates were clad with green caps and gowns and smiles across their faces. The children graced us with a song in English. Their voices were pure and childlike as they touched deep within our hearts. We had both graduation cake and birthday cake for all. Stephanie, job well done!

While graduation certificates and songs were manifest in the ceremony; we had busy bees in the back room making animal balloons to pass out to all the children. I have never seen so many happy faces. There tummies were full of sweet treats, their hands were full swinging balloons back and forth and an occasional POP would ring in the air followed by laughter. I think the children had a lot of fun; don’t you?

Singing a Song in English
This isn't the only thing that transpired today….Papa is still creating. Well, do you remember the fishes and the loves story in the bible? Matthew 14:13-21. The day started with Jesus having compassion on the multitude and healed their sick. Then evening came, the disciples wanted Jesus to send the people away so they could buy food.  Jesus said, “You give them something to eat.”  The story continues with the disciples collecting fives loaves and two fish; Jesus sit the multitude down and looks up into heaven. He then blessed and broke and gave the disciples the food. We know how it ends, right? Everyone eats until they are full and they picked up 12 baskets of fragments that remained. The key is that 5, 000 were fed that day. Well, I didn't feed five thousand today but I was passing out Scency lotions and realized I would not have enough but I decided to continue anyway. My heart wanted to give each of the mommies this beautiful scented lotion just a little thank you, I appreciate what you do. I just started giving them away.I had just enough and that was more than I brought. I brought 11 and handed out 12. I just keep reaching into my bag and didn't run out until I was done. It is not quite the feeding of the five thousand but it is a very real indication that God cares about even the small things in life. He cares about you…..and He cares about me….
Waiting for Cake!
